Nicholls Boreholes were contracted by AD Bly Construction of Old Knebworth, Hertfordshire, to install 18 x 12 metre soakaway boreholes for one of their housing developments to help with surface water drainage.
The drilling of the boreholes was completed by a hydraulic track mounted drill rig with a weight of approximately 8 tonnes. Each soakaway borehole was drilled to a diameter of 300mm. We supplied and installed 150mm UPVC liner (slotted) with the top 6 metres being solid to enable quick drainage into the surrounding land. This was installed with pea gravel to 10mm to enhance the drainage.
Deep bore soakaways are the most effective and low cost solution to drainage problems.
A very professional company & a job well done from a production, programme & health, safety & environmental viewpoint. We shall definitely use them again.
