Nicholls Boreholes was selected by a private Client in Henley on Thames to design and install a Stiebel Eltron 40kW Ground Source Heat Pump to supply hot water, heating and UFH to their exquisite 18thCentury 7 bedroom country home. This is a bivalent system which incorporates a back-up gas boiler. This assists the GSHP to generate additional heat output to reach the required heat demand throughout the older part of the property due to the age and size of their existing heat emitters, particularly during cold spells. As part of our on-going service we are able to monitor the performance of their system online giving our Clients complete peace of mind.
As an MCS Accredited Installer, we are able to design, supply and certify the system so the owner can claim the Government’s Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI) feed-in tariff to assist with the cost of the installation. As we are an approved Stiebel Eltron partner, we were able to service and offer a 7 year parts and labour warranty on this system.
In October 2014 the Client then instructed Nicholls to drill a 140m borehole and supply and install pumping and filtration equipment giving them their own waterwell which provided irrigation for their garden. This allows them to be completely in control of their water supply and thus no longer affected by local water authority hosepipe bans.
At the same time, Nicholls also drilled a 20m deep bore soakaway borehole to discharge roof water.
