Due to our experience within the inner London area Nicholls Boreholes were selected to design, supply and install a ground source heat pump system (GSHP’s) to a compact site in Chelsea, Central London. The house was an end of terrace 5 story new-build requiring a heating and a cooling system.
We installed the boreholes after the demolition of the existing building so the house could be built above the boreholes due to the lack of space. We then returned to install the GSHP once the building had been constructed. The team installed over 400 metres of borehole for a 20kW Stiebel Eltron Ground Source Heat Pump which was situated in a plant room tucked under the pavement at the front of the house.
As an MCS Accredited Installer, we were able to accredit the system so the owner could claim the Government’s Renewable Heating Incentive (RHI) feed-in tariff to assist with the cost of the installation.
