Cosmur Construction asked Nicholls Boreholes, who specialise in ground source heat pumps, to supply and install a ground source heat pump system (GSHP) with boreholes for their project at Penwortham Primary School in Streatham.
We drilled and installed 4 boreholes to depths of up to 114metres. The ground conditions were clay through to sand and then chalk with flints. Our specialised equipment has been specifically designed for this type of geology.
After completing the headerworks, we installed the manifold and all pipework, then supplied and installed a 1245 11kw NIBE ground source heat pump (GSHP) to provide heating and hot water to the school.
