As a specialist in the installation of ground source heat pumps, a large London-based construction company asked us to supply and install a ground source heat pump borehole system (GSHP) with boreholes for an exclusive new residential property in London WC1, near Russell Square.
The project involved drilling and installing 5 heat pump system boreholes to depths of 195 metres. Conditions were challenging as we had to drill 7 metres into the basement. After we had completed the headerworks, fitted the manifold and run the pipework, our heat pump installation team installed a NIBE F1345 40kw ground source heat pump (GSHP) to provide heating and hot water to the entire building, supporting this with the addition of a solar thermal system.
The GSHP not only heats and supplies hot water for the entire property but also heats the luxury basement swimming pool (pictured). With their new heat pump system, the owners have a state of the art source of renewable energy, saving them up to 70% of their heating bills and potentially adding value to their new property.
