Our approach

A man standing next to a borehole drillCustomer service is always our priority at Nicholls Boreholes. You will be assigned an experienced and qualified team to manage and keep you in touch with every aspect of your project, from geological surveys right through to final checks and post-installation service, including advice and all paperwork relating to the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), for which we are approved suppliers. We aim to ensure every job is completed on time, on budget and with minimum disruption. Our emphasis on project management combined with attention to detail and commitment to customer care ensures we deliver a uniquely efficient, high quality service.

Nicholls Boreholes drilling rigs typically drill from depths of 10m to over 200m and to a diameter between 100mm and 300mm and our equipment is designed to access sites of all sizes. As well as providing and installing geothermal boreholes and water well drilling we can offer advice on renewable heating and the Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). Please see the funding section for more information.

How we work

Assessing landscape for boreholesWe visit and assess the area for the proposed borehole. We obtain a geological report to ascertain ground conditions for heat pump boreholes. For waterwells we obtain a water prognosis report from the most appropriate hydrologists or use a more traditional method and dowse for water using a water diviner. We then supply you with a no-obligation quotation including a detailed analysis of how we would manage your project. With our own staff and equipment we drill the borehole and install all the necessary components, leaving you with your own water supply or ground loops ready for connection. We use some of the cleanest drilling techniques available and are leaders in technological development for the borehole and GSHP industries.
