Waterwell borehole design

When our experienced Nicholls Borehole & Ground Source team undertake the design of water borehole systems, we look at the project as a whole. The construction design of the water borehole itself is determined by the geology and the anticipated yield including environmental considerations. Based on this, our experts will put together a specific well construction design to optimise the potential yield. We are also happy to install water borehole systems designed by others.

As every project is individual, please contact us to discuss your design.

Residential waterwell borehole design

Our experience and expertise in creating residential water borehole systems for private properties is second to none, as is our reputation for project management and customer service.  A water borehole on your property has a number of benefits.  By providing your own, independent source of water from your own land it will start saving you money and reducing your carbon footprint from the moment it is completed.  You will no longer be affected by local water authority hosepipe bans and your borehole will give you a more sustainable and eco-friendly source of water that can add value to your property too.

Water boreholes for towns including central London

Although water boreholes are associated with rural areas, customers with urban properties are discovering their benefits too.  With our clean, compact drilling equipment (which can be as little as 5 foot wide) we can create water boreholes even in confined town locations in central London.  A recent project in West London illustrates how a 200m waterwell borehole was installed to provide a private water supply for the property.

How your own water borehole works

Once your water borehole has been drilled, we install an appropriately sized liner (pipe) to the required depth below your site considering the type of slot size within the liner to help mitigate the ingress of fine particles.  We install the required borehole pump with all the controls.  Depending on useage, this may be run through a filtration system before use.  Our aim is that you can just turn a tap on or off as you need, giving you a similar (if not better) experience to a mains water supply.

Your first step

If you are interested in having your own residential water borehole, simply contact us now.  We can arrange a geological assessment of your property to work out whether ground water can be accessed.  If it can, we will discuss the options in more depth and supply you with a detailed, no-obligation estimate.  Call us on 01403 820750 now and find out more.

Commercial waterwell design

When designing a commercial water borehole system it is important that the project is understood as a whole.  Once we have established the viability of installing a water borehole at your site, we then undertake the borehole design itself, considering the following – borehole depth, borehole diameter, drilling methodology and construction, anticipated yield, pump size and depth including the control system.   We also consider whether any licensing is required and any environmental implications.

Water boreholes in towns and cities

We can review your site and whether or not a water borehole system is viable and have experience in installing commercial waterwells in built up areas across the South.

Agricultural waterwell design

Our experience and expertise in creating residential water boreholes for private properties is second to none as is our reputation for project management and customer service. A water borehole on your property has a number of benefits. By providing your own, independent source of water from your own land it will start saving you money from the moment it is completed. You will no longer be affected by local water authority hosepipe bans and your borehole will give you a cleaner, more eco-friendly source of water that can add value to your property too.

Water boreholes for farms and agriculture

At Nicholls our installations have included water borehole systems for dairy farms, fruit farms, biodigester plants, organic farms and vineyards.  We have also installed for polo pitch irrigation.

How your own water borehole works

We start with an expert assessment of whether it is possible to access groundwater beneath your site. If it is, we drill to a maximum depth of 300 metres, reinforce the walls, install a pump to bring the water to the surface and a cover to keep your water source clean. If your borehole is going to supply drinking water, we can include purification equipment if required and your borehole water can replace your incoming mains supply or run alongside it. Call us on 01403 820750 email us now for more information. All this is done with the absolute minimum of disruption by your dedicated project team. We are contactable and keep you in touch at every stage and our focus is on completing your water borehole on time and on budget. Your waterwell borehole and the water it delivers is then thoroughly tested and we offer an annual service contract for complete peace of mind.
