Ground Source Heat Pump Installation Engineer
GSHP installation engineer to join our renewable energy team, installing ground source heat pump systems for residential and commercial clients.
About the Role
Nicholls Boreholes is expanding its ground source heat pump (GSHP) division and we are looking for a qualified Installation Engineer to join the team. You will install complete GSHP systems from borehole to building, working on residential and commercial projects across the South East.
Responsibilities:
- Installing ground source heat pump units and associated pipework
- Connecting borehole ground loops to heat pump systems
- Pressure testing and commissioning GSHP installations
- Working with MCS-accredited designs and specifications
- Liaising with clients, architects, and main contractors
- Maintaining installation records and commissioning certificates
- Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations Part L and MCS standards
Requirements
- Plumbing/heating engineering background (minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Experience with heat pump installations (ground source or air source)
- F-Gas certification or willingness to obtain
- MCS awareness and understanding of renewable energy regulations
- Full clean UK driving licence
- Good problem-solving skills
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
